Cornetti Marianne, mezzo-soprano
Marianne Cornetti was born in the USA. Her repertoire includes many of the Verdi mezzo soprano roles including Amneris in Aida, Azucena in Il trovatore, Eboli in Don Carlo, Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera, Preziosilla in La forza del destino, Cuniza in Oberto, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Abigaille in Nabucco and others as well as Ortrud in Lohengrin, Brangane in Tristan und Isolde (Wagner), Principessa di Bouillon in Adriana Lecouvreur (Cilea), Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni), Rosa in L’Arlesiana (Cilea), Giovanna Seymour in Anna Bolena (Donizetti) and many others. She performs regularly in La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Vienna Staatsoper and the opera houses of Munich, Roma, Berlin, Florence, the Arena di Verona, Naples, Trieste, Liege, Hamburg, Palermo, Barcelona, Bilbao, Washington, Brussels, Genoa, Amsterdam, Bregenz, Montreal, Palermo, Turin, Dresden, Tokyo and others. This is her Israeli Opera debut.
