Four Funerals and a Wedding On a Saturday Morning

Golden Saturday Series at the Opera

The popular Golden Saturday morning concerts opera series at the Opera House in Tel Aviv continues (April 9) with a program dedicated to the Italian and French opera plots in which the heroine almost always finds herself dead as the curtain goes down.
Somehow only in a small number of operas do the lovers live happily ever after.

The program will feature a wide selection of arias, duets and ensembles from popular operas including Lucia di Lammermoor, Rigoletto, Tosca, Otello, Carmen, Madama Butterfly, La traviata and others.
Participating artists include sopranos Mirela Gradinaru, Lilia Gretsova, Ala Vasilevitsky and Efrat Ashkenazi, mezzo sopranos Ayala Zimbler and Yifat Weisskopf, tenors Guy Manheim and Yosef Aridan and counter tenor Yaniv d'Or.
They will be accompanied from the piano by Eithan Schmeisser. The concert is moderated in Hebrew by Michael Ajzenstadt.
